David's Reflections
January - February 2009
“Learn from yesterday, live for today and hope for tomorrow.”
As we move into a new year it is meaningful to reflect on what we have learned from the past so we might celebrate our todays from a “conscious” place. The country will have new leadership. Our Center is changing names and the spiritual organization we are affiliated with is merging with another similar community. Change is the order of the day. Shall we rejoice?
The Bible states when someone has a transformation their name changes, e.g. Jacob became Israel & Abram became Abraham. We will now be known as The Center for Spiritual Living Huntsville. This name will unify all of our centers. With greater name recognition it will be easier to identify other communities who share our philosophy.
Bringing our awareness back to the foundations of our teaching the Sunday talks in January and February will highlight the basics of our philosophy. In January the fundamental principles of Science of Mind will be presented and February will take those ideas into the cornerstones of our daily lives and explore how we demonstrate a greater livingness.
January is our new member month where we ask members, friends and potential new members to fill out the enclosed form which helps keep our records straight. New members are welcomed to join our spiritual community while existing members are asked to recommit. Non-members are welcome to share their information also. There are many ways to offer yourself as a volunteer, pledge support and provide detailed information for our directory and email list. Your participation will be greatly appreciated.
To keep everyone fully abreast of the many activities at our Center, it is crucial we have your current contact information available. We hope to eventually transmit our newsletter electronically to save time, money and trees.
In addition to the many classes and services, we plan to have a night of Bingo in January. The annual meeting of our Center will be the end of January where we will assess the financial health and look at it vision for the future. In February we will host a new member breakfast. March 6 will be an evening of celebration as I have my twentieth anniversary as the spiritual leader of this Center. It has been such as honor to serve you these many years.
Together we are unfolding as expressions of love and light.
