Reverend David¨The King's son lies in the depths
of the sea as though dead. But he
lives and calls from the deep,
Whosoever will free me from the
waters and lead me to dry land,
him will I prosper with everlasting
riches.¨
-- Splendor Solis by Trismosin

There is something of royal lineage, sacred ancestry, divine heritage that is buried within the depth of our being. It yearns for us as much as we yearn for it. And, at some point in all our lives we reach a point where it calls out to us to "Set Me Free". I believe this to be the call from our passionate soul that is desperately trying to get our attention.
When we decide to liberate this creative soul of our being as the old saying goes, "All hell breaks loose". Anything that doesn't serve that Essential Being must be released. This can be a scary time, as we sever the ties that have bound us in a comfort zone, as we cast aside the masks worn by our pretentious ego selves, as we step out of the cage we created that became more of a prison than a palace.
The divine paradox is at play when we ask, "How can you say I will prosper with the everlasting riches, when I have cast aside all I thought I wanted?" We begin to realize that wealth is in the little things. We begin to see that what we thought was big is really minor. We begin to see that we are not the person with all the trappings that we thought we were.
Shakespeare likened our world to a stage, and you and I as the players who strut about making the drama of life. But you and I are not merely the players, we are also the author of the script (we put the words in our mouth) and the director, producer, set designer, yadda, yadda, yadda. What happens in the performance of our life hinges on who we think we are, what we say and what we do.
So we wake up and we begin to see things differently. We listen to our heart as it guides us into spontaneous responses born of self love. We honor the body as a messenger showing us what feels good and what makes us sick. We observe our mind and choose the thoughts that we will invest our energy in. We learn how to let go of all manner of shoulds, have to's, oughtas and couldas. We let go of yesterday and even tomorrow so that we might discover now.
And so we liberate the Royal Self from the deep of our being. We learn to trust in the often non-rational, spontaneous, impulsiveness that takes us to the edge of life and asks us to step out in faith. When we dare to do it, we fly. The only glitch is that we must then embrace the uncertainty of where we will go, what we will do, and who we will become. But, when we have a radical trust and faith, or even if we can just trust the trust and have faith in the faith..., we have what it takes to soar like eagles.
Within me and around me, I am hearing the sweet call from the Beloved to "Set Me Free!" So I must respond by realizing that "I AM" is here and is calling to us all. The Oversoul that Emerson spoke of is seeking liberation through us. I find myself saying to this persistent cry of my soul, "I hear you darlin'... I HEAR YOU".
Helen Keller responded to this voice as well, "I believe that God is in me as the sun is in the colour and fragrance of a flower, the Light in my darkness, the voice in my silence."

Listen, listen, listen.
