Reverend David "Know that there is…an intelligence to which we may come for inspiration, for guidance, for direction; a power responding to us…a light within us."  – Ernest Holmes

Tich Nhat Hanh speaks about taking refuge in the Dharma (the teaching), the Buddha (the Presence) and the Songa (the community). All three are required and it is our intention to meet this requirement. We are doing this in our own Western way through the many activities at our Center.

Our theme for the year is Building Spiritual Community. As it moves ahead joyfully there are two primary focuses: Prayer and Meditation. For the months of February and March we will explore these practices and lay the foundation for the greater vision that wants to emerge both within the individual and within our Center.

I am reminded that Life will return to us what we bring to it. We must be willing to commit ourselves to a spiritual practice and do the work. For many of us, we have no choice as it has become a way of life.

You have heard when the student is ready, the teacher appears. One such mentor is Dr. Rocco Errico who will set us on fire in February with his passionate approach to the Bible. His workshop is always a powerful presentation, healing many old religious misperceptions. This is a great time to bring a friend from another tradition or one who needs a healing from their religious past.

To expand the consciousness of the individual we are offering a new class in February that explores the leading edge thinking around a reality of Oneness. If you are ready to dive deeply into this path of Unity there is a day and a night class. Dr. Holmes said, "If we teach anything, we teach Oneness."

Wednesdays will be full of opportunities from Yoga in the morning to Spiritual Cinema in the evening throughout February and Spiritual Peace Making in March. Rev. Pam Herdy will also share her Movement Ministry through Nia in February.

The invitation is here; all we have to do is say 'yes'. Dr. Holmes reminds us that life is an evolution of consciousness spiraling upwards. When we participate in the natural unfoldment of Life, our lives are transformed.

Let us put spiritual power into action joyfully as we pray and meditate together. Ours is a Science of Mind, and there is also beauty and an art in the practice of building spiritual community from the heart.

Namasté,
David
